In 1995 when we started our hosting business, we soon learned that we were in need of an automated billing system. We started with software called CoolWorld and spent $2000.00 for it. It wasn’t long after we started they went out of business due to the software errors and we needed to find something much more dependable.

After a few days of research we found Optigold and at that time we thought it was the Cat’s Meow, which Shawn the owner used as a testimonial on his website. This software was based on FileMaker Pro which is a Windows Platform and was very difficult to get connected from an outside sources using a web browser. When we finally needed some real support, there wasn’t any, we tried several times to get support and I even called and Shawn answered the phone, then he lied and said he was not Shawn, but I did recognize his voice. So that was that and on my way again to find something that will truly work well.

I found an upcoming company who made an Online PHP MYSQL software called ModernBill, and it was great. We used it for 11 years and support was always there when we needed it, no complaints until a year or so ago I went to ask some questions and low and behold they sold out to Plesk a Control Panel Company for Servers. I tried for a year to get some help from them in regards to my LIFETIME license to this software that I own, and NOTHING, you cannot even get an email address or a person to answer their phone, they wanted me to spend hundreds of dollar just to ask a question, whether or not they were going to support us, so I gave up.

I recently started to look once again for a really good online billing software that I could import all my data in from my ModernBill software. I found a couple, tried them out but they could not perform well when it came to importing the data, one company said in their feature list they could import MB v4, but after testing their software, it did not work at all. They said they would have it fixed in a few months, so off I went again.
